The Daniel Galvin Awards 2012

On Saturday 21st January, the Daniel Galvin Salon in George Street held our first annual awards at which stylists and colourists of all levels were rewarded for their hard-work, creative flair and dedication to the salon.
The first half of the award ceremony was dedicated to the junior members of staff. Daniel Galvin has a keen commitment to educating young hairdressers and the aim was to encourage the younger staff as well as to acknowledge the great work that they had already done. They were each presented with an Essentials Gift Voucher of varied values.
The senior members of staff were also awarded with 3rd, 2nd and 1st prizes within the colour and style departments. The winners were those who Daniel & the Management team believed to excel beyond their targets; inspire the younger members of the teams and make an effort to nurture the Daniel Galvin brand. The 1st place winners were stylist Tullulah, who presented at 2011’s Salon International and colourist Amy, another dedicated member of the team, managing the colouring juniors as well as producing outstanding work.
The highlight of the evening, however, came when Daniel presented the Joshua Galvin award. Joshua, Daniel’s older brother, sadly passed away last year and was also a passionate and talented hairdresser. Daniel wanted to present an award in his name to someone of whom Joshua would have been proud: who shows positivity, has a passion for our industry, shows drive, commitment and boundless energy and consistently produces high-quality work. This award went to Saskiia Marsh (pictured), who qualified in February 2011 and is a very trusted and gifted member of the colour team.
This was a fantastically successful evening at which the DG Management Team were proud and privileged to honour the commitment and passion that the stylists and colourists have for the Daniel Galvin brand; and it is an event that will almost certainly be repeated.
